Myhotmusic Alert – The Botticellis “Up Against the Glass”

This is the band you NEED to be listening to in these hard times. Beautiful vocals reminiscent of the Everly Brothers and John Lennon. The music is just beautiful and the song is just delicious. The best thing I have heard all year. They need to be on the radio !

They are from San Francisco’s Outer Richmond district, and the Botticellis love to make delicate pop music and love to surf. Believe it or not, they used to be a heavy metal band !

Myhotmusic Alert Michael Maiolo “Infatuated”.

Melbourne’s Michael Maiolo reckons that “cute boys turn heads”, he breaks necks !
We we shall reserve judgement as far as that is concerned. But we reckon his debut single is pretty good. It is catchy and groovy. We prefer our very own DJKZ’s remix.

“Infatuated” is about the rush of blood and beating hearts when two people get together for the first time and we’re sure it’s a subject matter that everyone can relate to at some point in their love life.

One other thing to mention is, the video was filmed using that lovely piece of kit called the Nikon D90.

Check out Michael’s website, join his mailing list and watch out for the single.

Myhotmusic Song of the Day: Estelle ft Ceelo “Pretty Please”.

The Motown influenced soul music bandwagon marches on. But we love this one. Reminds me of Raphael Saadiq’s “I love that girl”. It comes from her album ‘Shine’ which is actually very good, ‘Pretty Please’ features Ceelo on vocals and is yet another British singer raiding their parents record collection for ideas. I don’t mind as long as they are making great records but like Amy Winehouse, Duffy and Joss Stone (who started this trend), Estelle has managed to come up with something half decent.

Nikon D90 and why you MUST have one. Pt 2

You’ve read my post about how bloody good the D90 is and why every artist should have on in their toolkit. Now we want to show you what can be achieved with this camera.

Anne Vandas “You’re Here”

Anna Vandas ‘You’re Here’ from RadarMusicVideos on Vimeo.

A beautiful song with a very interesting video. I love how passers by react to the camera and add to production of the video. Didn’t know too much about Anna Vandas so I went onto the old Google machine to find out more.

She is from Vancouver, Canada, loves painting, music, dance and Jesus !

Her voice is haunting but brilliant and her songs have an extra quality to them than your average folk acoustic pop singer. One to watch for 2009.

Sonny and Cher tribute.

When I was very young, my dad had probably the best collection of records. He had hits from the Beatles, The Overlanders and Sonny and Cher. On many occaisions I was fascinated by the old gramaphone playing multiple 7 inch records using the ‘record changer’. One of the artists that captured me in those days was the duo Sonny & Cher. Two songs of their bring back the tears to my eyes and thanks to the wonders of the internet, I can share them with you.

I Got You Babe

Baby Don’t Go

Baby Don’t Go is crying out for a cover. This is a hit waiting to be revived.

Rasmus Faber feat Clara Mendes – Demanda (Miguel Migs Remix)

Another fabulous song from the Hed Kandi compilation is this brilliant song which proves that there is no language barrier when it comes to a good tune. Demanda is performed by Rasmus Faber featuring Clara Mendes. Believe it or not Rasmus Faber is from Sweden and has a few brilliant songs on his myspace page which is located at:
Check his stuff out it is very good and relaxing and that’s what we need to calm down our nerves in these turbulent times.

Also check out the lovely Clara Mendes who is Brazilian but lives in Stockholm
She is hot, sexy and absolutely fantastic. Brazilian music has always interested me since watching Sergio Mendes on TV way back in the day and Clara Mendes is one to watch. She has a balanced diet but sometimes eats “nuddles” and smokes Marlboro. I defy anyone to listen to her stuff and not fall in love with it.
